Autism doesn't disappear when individuals or systems turn 18, and making/keeping friends only seems to become more complicated with time.  There are groups and apps scattered across the web that often cost money to take part in, but what about friend groups? Autistic people who want to video chat regularly with others who get what it's like? People who don't just want to commiserate in a support group setting, but also want to share in autistic joy? And how do our special/intense interests fit into what's already out there?

Hi, I'm Holly, the autistic/artistic creator of  ENDLESSSSOCIETY.  hope to fill the friendship void, both for myself and others.

How  It  Works

8 doesn't just make an infinity symbol, it also makes the perfect maximum number for a friend group. More than 8 voices can mean not everyone gets a turn to talk. This is why there is 1 moderator + 7 slots for each video friend group session.

Want to add something to the discussion that you weren't able to during your friend group session? Want to share some info to your friend group or suggest a topic for the next session? Or maybe you just want to chat between sessions! Whatever the case, there is a forum below with a section for each friend group to keep the conversation going!

To join a friend group, grab a slot for the next video session below. Sessions are typically conducted via Zoom. You will receive email reminders once you grab a slot.

Is the friend group you want to join always full, or you don't see a group you'd like to take part in? Become a moderator, and start you own group! There is an application near the bottom of this page to let me know what friend group you'd like to cultivate. I'll get back to you so that we can make a group session for people to take part in. You can also apply to take over as moderator if yours needs a break or has to leave the friend group.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

  • The friend groups and forums are for adults only. This is site does not take responsibility for minors

  • The friend groups are run by volunteer moderators. Please respect that people are giving up their time to create each friend group, and things might not go according to plan. If a moderator is not able to attend the friend group session, I will try to reach out to the people in the group. In some cases this isn't able to happen.

  • If you decide to volunteer to moderate a group, I will send you the moderator guidelines, which you are responsible for following.

  • This magical space will be inclusive, free of hate/judgement, and a no-politics-zone. If you encounter someone who doesn't follow the moderator, friend group, or forum guidelines, please reach out to me in the contact form at the bottom of this page. Anyone who does not will be subject to being blocked from the community.
